People often search Google for ‘hypnotherapy training cost UK’ or ‘how much does it cost to learn hypnotherapy in the UK’, etc. before signing up to a training course. Now, being frugal is smart. It’s definitely worth looking after your money and only investing in things that are worth your time, money and effort. However, it is useful to consider all the options available to you, and their costs, especially with something as important as training for your future career. So, as important as it is to consider the initial cost of hypnotherapy training, the thing that’s more important is the quality of training that you get. But more on that in a moment…
Cheap hypnotherapy training and qualifications
As you may know, hypnotherapy is ‘unregulated’ in the UK, and many other places around the world. This means that any hypnotherapy training company, school or trainer can offer a hypnotherapy qualification and call it whatever they like, regardless of the skills and qualifications of your chosen trainer, and the quality and duration of the course itself! You can get various certificates and diplomas, all with different titles, such as; ‘hypnotherapy diploma’, ‘clinical hypnotherapy diploma’, ‘advanced hypnotherapy diploma’, ‘Ericksonian hypnotherapy diploma’, ‘cognitive-behavioural hypnotherapy diploma’, etc., and they can cost anything from less than £10, up to thousands of pounds. However, despite a fancy certificate title, courses offering qualifications such as these can drastically vary in duration and quality of training, as well as cost! In fact, some so-called “hypnotherapy diplomas” that I’ve seen advertised contain less content than you’d find in my own Beginner’s Guide to Hypnotherapy book! Now, that’s a scary thing, and it’s something I am personally trying my best to educate people on, in order to help new hypnotherapy students separate the wheat from the chaff!
Whilst on the topic of hypnotherapy qualification, diplomas do tend to be the most popular choice of qualification title, whether from top-quality hypnotherapy training providers, or less-reputable trainers. The reason ‘diploma’ is the most commonly used qualification title is, it looks like a professional qualification! Unfortunately, as mentioned above, all hypnotherapy diploma courses are not created equal, so before you sign up, make sure to look at what’s included in the course itself, and what you’re going to learn as a student on the course! Our own in-person hypnotherapy course is a hypnotherapy diploma too, however, as you may have guessed, it differs greatly from the ultra-cheap “diploma courses” that you might find elsewhere, such as with online ‘course farms’ like Udemy, Centre of Excellence, or even Ebay! A hypnotherapy diploma course that costs £9.99 all-in, is unlikely to give you what you would expect from a diploma qualification, and definitely won’t set you up for a career as a hypnotherapist!
Finding good quality, affordable online hypnotherapy training
If you are looking for cheap or budget hypnotherapy training, and budget is your #1 factor, then it’s even more important that you don’t be blinded by certificate titles and course names. The important thing to look for is a high quality hypnotherapy training course, so that you can develop a deep and thorough understanding of how hypnotherapy works, and how to do it! So, if your main goal right now, as you learn hypnotherapy, is cost and cost alone, then you’re in luck, because not all cheap training is bad!
At the Rory Z Hypnosis Academy, our online hypnotherapy training and certification is among some of the best and most comprehensive on the market. Cheap hypnotherapy training vs. good value hypnotherapy training
If you were a learner driver, you wouldn’t expect to just do a £9.99 video course and then jump in the car for your driving test, would you? Even taking a few ‘intensive’ days of live driving training alone (without any supportive training materials) is unlikely to be enough for you to pass your exam and drive safely. Learning a new skill, especially a complex one like driving or hypnotherapy, takes time, effort and lots of repetition and engagement over a long period. This is why short or cheap hypnotherapy courses will often end up working out at a higher cost for the majority of students, because once the course is over, there are often huge gaps in knowledge and skills. Then, to fill those gaps, further training is often required. By paying a little extra and getting comprehensive hypnotherapy training, you’re much more likely to gain all the information that you need to become an effective hypnotherapist.
Before you join a hypnotherapy course, it is also vitally important that you weigh up the course cost vs. the value that the hypnotherapy course is going to give you. Looking at value, there are many different factors involved in choosing a hypnotherapy course that you should consider, such as:
- Course content (what is covered)
- Tutors hypnotherapy experience
- Tutors teaching experience
- Course location
- Course duration
- Course structure/delivery
- Course notes/supplements
- Additional training materials (e.g. online videos)
- Are there practicals?
- Are there demonstrations?
- What do you get at the end of the course? (certificate)
Without considering these factors before you join a hypnotherapy course, you might end up paying slightly less money for ‘the same end result’ (a certificate), but you might not get the actual high-value result, which is knowing how to do hypnotherapy confidently and effectively.
As you’ve probably guessed, our in-person hypnotherapy diploma is not quite as cheap as some of the more budget-friendly online training courses you’re likely to find, but even though it’s not the cheapest, it certainly gives you amazing value for money (it even includes 6-months membership in our online academy, to support your learning journey)!
